BabyGap & Peter Rabbit
Saturday January 12th, U.S. mall stalwart Gap will unveil a exclusive babyGap collection inspired by the classic children’s story Beatrix Potter’s “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” at The Grove in Los Angeles. The retailer will then rollout the collection January 14th. The event will feature actress Elizabeth Banks reading Emma Thompson’s sequel, “The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit,” to an invite-only crowd of celebrities and their tots.
Attendees will also enjoy an afternoon full of fun activities, snacks and live music from Lucky Diaz & The Family Jam Band. In partnership with Milk + Bookies, guests are invited to donate their literary favorite for others to enjoy. Books will be donated to Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood. Reading events will take place in nine other cities January 26th.
The collection, for girls and boys, newborn to 24 months, features graphic onesies, oxford shirts, cable-knit cardigans, colored denim, patterned dresses, and accessories retailing from $6.99 to $55.
WWD reports: “Peter Rabbit is a timeless character that generations of children have enjoyed, so we’re thrilled to offer a babyGap collection inspired by characters and scenes from the books,” said Lexi Tawes, vice president of merchandising for Gap North America. “We think customers will love the playful designs, from Peter Rabbit’s iconic blue sweater to the whimsical, bunny-inspired patterns.”
